Energy is used in Runecraft to produce magic, on rune creation you get energy, and when using certain runes your energy decreases! More powerful effects usually require more energy, energy can be used over time for continuous effects, or each time an item or tool enhanced by a rune is used.
How do you get energy?
You get energy by creating runes or using the Aether Chest. Deposit items in the chest and it will add the energy values of all items in the chest to your personal energy level. You can check the values of blocks in the world by using Oracle. For a complete list which includes all items, see the Tiers and Energy list. If the server has "Fire Gain" enabled, burning items in fire or lava also gives Energy. This setting is off by default, so be sure to ask your server administrator before potentially wasting valuable items.
